A new opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Gynaecologist to join a dedicated and professional Multi-disciplinary team based at Portsmouth hospitals NHS Trust. The department seeks to appoint a Consultant Gynaecologist to join its BSGE Accredited Endometriosis centre, who holds a certificate of completion of specialist O&G training and as a minimum holds the RCOG ATSM in Advanced laparoscopic surgery or have completed the sub-specialty training) in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery in BSGE accredited Endometriosis Centre. A decision about eligibility for the post will be taken by the short listing panel once the qualifications of the field of applicants are established.
The successful candidate will join a large consultant team providing general and specialised obstetrics and gynaecology services to the population of East Hampshire and neighbouring areas. The post will be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. The job plan will initially be based on ten programmed activities and will include participation in the gynaecology on-call rota.
The remit of the post holder will be to provide general gynaecological services, undertake complex laparoscopic surgery and work closely with our subspecialist gynaecological endometriosis surgeon and other members of Southern Endometriosis Centre MDT, to further develop specialist endometriosis services in Portsmouth and ensure recognition in specialist commissioning.
