Clinical Chair in Medical Education in General Practice

This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant and expanding team of academics in General Practice (GP). The team has excellence in clinical and pedagogic research-led teaching and in the support and nurturing of General Practitioners with an interest in medical education.
We wish to appoint to this senior position a practising General Practitioner as an inspirational role model, with strong credentials in medical education, winning external funds, publishing in high impact journals and successful in research collaborations. The post holder will take a lead role in the evaluation of the curriculum. They will also foster the interest and skills in research within the existing team.
The main purpose of the role is to be part of the team to introduce and sustain the General Practice Enhanced MBChB programme, to provide senior academic leadership to support student GP immersive experiences, student scholarly activity and to lead a programme of related research in general practice. You will also lead the evaluation of the impact of the revised GP curriculum supported by colleagues in the GP teaching team and the Centre for Healthcare Education Research and Innovation. We aspire towards a Centre for excellence in GP educational research.
We wish to appoint a candidate with a strong academic track record who will provide key skills in developing and evaluating the curriculum change, in forming partnerships with GP practices and professional bodies and providing a role model for students aspiring to a career in GP and / or academia.
Applicants will already be a Chair or be close to this level with several years of clinical and academic experience in a senior role.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the salary scale for Staff holding Honorary Consultant Contracts (£78,304 - £105,570 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
