We have a busy educational program and the posts will include opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Consultant in Respiratory Medicine: Though interest and/or experience in lung cancer would be helpful, other sub specialist interests may be accommodated, depending on the particular interests of the appointee. From a lung cancer perspective The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides Tertiary service to the region with access to all relevant investigations.

The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust employs approximately 8,000 staff and provides a comprehensive range of acute services from 2 hospital sites for a based population of around 650,000, with some specialist services aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.2 million people.

About Hull: In 2001 an aquarium, The Deep, opened in Hull – the world’s only submarium. The beginning of the 21st century saw several other parts of Hull regenerated; The St Stephen’s Shopping Centre opened in 2007, as well as new developments like the Humber Quays business district and C4DI, a centre for digital innovation in the north.

The arts and cultural sector is now going from strength to strength in the city, with annual events such as the Freedom Festival which has a programme of theatre, music, comedy and poetry. The city’s two theatres, Hull Truck Theatre and Hull New Theatre, present new productions and touring work from around the country. The Ferens Art Gallery is the region’s leading visual art space, and was home to the Turner Prize as part of the UK’s City of Culture 2017

The Kingston Communication Stadium is a stone’s throw from Hull Royal Infirmary and is home to Championship football and super league rugby. Hull has links with Europe via the ferry and the nearby Humberside Airport, along with good rail and motorway links, but is within easy reach of nearby coastal resorts and Wolds countryside.
