Powys Teaching Health Board is responsible for meeting the health and wellbeing needs of the population of Powys. Applications are invited for a full or part time Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join a well established expanding Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The CAMHS teams are based with other children's services in Ynys Y Plant, Newtown and Brecon War Memorial Hospital. This post will be based at Brecon Children’s Centre, Brecon Hospital and is one of two posts currently available with a total of 1.7 WTE.

Powys CAMHS is committed to providing high quality, accessible services and has recently attracted investment to strengthen therapeutic services, improve crisis response and provide the intensive treatment in the community that would reduce the hospitalisation of young people. Over the last year, the service has met all waiting list targets.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individuals to support a well established multi-disciplinary team committed to improving services for Children and Adolescents. There is no on-call commitment in these posts.

The Health Board places great emphasis on continuous professional development and will actively support you in the development of special interests and the achievement of your personal development plan. We are also keen to further teaching opportunities in conjunction with the University of Wales School of Medicine.

With effect from 1st April 2017 points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on AfC Pay Band 1 and Pay Band 2 will be adjusted to £16,523 to reflect the incorporation of the living wage £8.45 per hour.
