Introduction

South Tees Hospitals focus on delivering excellence through the Front of House (FOH) model, which comprises of Accident and Emergency, Acute Medicine and Critical Care services. Our model focuses on Senior Decision Makers (SDM) at the heart of everything we do and our national performance is testament. We believe in the value of SDMs and are looking to expand our Acute Physician body.

The Role

The Acute Medicine directorate sits within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre and has clinical leadership at its core. Our Acute Physicians lead a team of junior doctors’, nurse practitioners, nurses and therapists diagnosing and managing patients’ in the right place, first time. Opportunities exist for those with a specialist interest. Acute Physicians will lead the management of acute directorate which consists of: 2 ambulatory care units; 3 acute medical wards; 1 rapid access frailty unit; 1 short stay unit; and contribute to the on call rota. Key to our work is the collaborative relationships with primary care, A&E, critical care and specialty medicine services to ensure patients have the best possible experience during their time with us. We aim to deliver a Home First approach to all our patients.

The Trust

Steeped in local history and heritage you will find North East Yorkshire has the ideal mix of all that is good about England. Our Trust incorporates urban redesign, picturesque market towns and breath-taking coastal views and of course the North Yorkshire Moors with a local population health that ranges above and below the national average across a breadth of Public Health indicators for deprivation, adult health, disease and life expectancy. This presents a unique opportunity to work in a diverse environment with a challenging case mix.
