The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute and specialist services from two sites to a local population of 350,000. Our services include; accident and emergency services, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, paediatrics and maternity services. Hillingdon is situated in North West London close to Heathrow airport and is the second largest London borough. Our modern treatment centre at Mount Vernon in Northwood offers routine inpatient services, diagnostics and outpatient clinics.

The Acute Medical Model at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is going through an exciting period of change as we develop and expand our ambulatory emergency care, emergency assessment and frailty and surgical pathways. The current plans regarding reconfiguration provide an excellent opportunity to be involved in the expansion and development of our services.

To help us achieve this, with the highest standards of innovation in clinical care, we are looking for two AMU consultants to join our core team of acute physicians. The successful candidates will support and help to develop the
acute medical services which include an acute admission and an ambulatory emergency care unit.

We are looking to appoint Acute/General Physicians, one of whom will be the Clinical Lead for the Department. The Acute Medicine Service supports a junior medical team as well as a team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners
in training who work on the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit. The successful candidates will be supported by the Deputy Divisional Director

There is scope for undertaking sessions in a specialty and so candidates who have a Speciality interest are encouraged to contact Dr Wisniacki or Dr Cruwys to discuss how the proposed job plans could be adapted to be mutually
beneficial to the Trust and the candidate.

The appointees should have experience in Acute/General Medicine and be required to be on the Specialist Register (AIM or GIM) or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. We value our staff and wherever
possible we offer flexible hours, a full range of benefits, on-site nursery facilities and restaurant as well as a wide range of training and career development opportunities. We are proud to say that our staff survey results show that our employees look forward to coming to work here.

Please contact Dr Fiona Wisniacki – Deputy Divisional Director for Emergency Medicine at (01895 279164) or Dr Michele Cruwys Divisional Director for Medicine at (01895 279859).

If you would like to make an informal enquiry or arrange to visit the Hospital please call Cheryl Ronan on 01895 279164.
