Consultant Physician with an Interest in Stroke Medicine
11 PAs (10 PAs plus 1 for participation in Telestroke on-call rota) We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our team in the position of Consultant Physician with an Interest in Stroke Medicine at Southport and Ormskirk District General Hospital.
You should have MRCP and be on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register or within six months of completing a Training Programme recognised for the award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within 6 months of interview.
The 20 bedded Acute Stroke Unit at Southport and Ormskirk District General Hospital which includes expansion of our hyperacute stroke services, the post holder will support the stroke team in providing a specialist service. The successful candidate will be supported by a well-established, dedicated stroke MDT and a stroke specialist nurse. We are also supported by trainees from the deanery and an excellent admin team comprising personal assistants & medical secretaries.
To support service needs the post will work across two sites in addition we provide outpatient services at both Southport and Ormskirk sites, including General Medicine / Stroke & TIA Clinics.
The Stroke Ward is based at Southport District General Hospital and an expectation of this post is to carry out inpatient ward rounds and board rounds.
Participation in the Telestroke on-call rota is currently in place. An on call intensity supplement which is payable.
This post is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance with both children and adults barred lists.
