The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust consists of three acute teaching hospitals serving the population of Leicestershire and the wider region. It is fully committed to Continuing Medical Education for Consultants.
Glenfield Hospital is now home to Vascular Surgery which moved from Leicester Royal Infirmary in May 2017 and boasts a brand new hybrid theatre utilised by Vascular Surgery for 3 days per week in addition to standard 5 theatre days.
University Hospitals of Leicester's (UHL) wider reconfiguration plans will bring further investment to this site this year with a further 11 level 3 Intensive care beds to be added to the present 21 to accommodate Hepatobiliary and Renal Transplant surgery service relocation to Glenfield hospital.
The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the continued development of the service.
They will be required to undertake management duties, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical audit and participate in the extensive clinical research activity at Glenfield Hospital.
The new role of Faculty tutor is especially attractive in facilitating the development of the consultant body in its delivery of modern medical education in UHL.
