Consultant in Infectious Diseases with a Specialist Interest In Orthopaedic Infections.

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Infectious Diseases with a specialist interest in Orthopaedic Infections.

The post holder will be expected to provide a specialist infectious diseases service, with the help of Consultant colleagues within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). This will include general infectious diseases work (direct inpatient care, inpatient referrals work and outpatient care) and leading the Orthopaedic Infection Service.

The latter will involve inpatient management of patients primarily under orthopaedic care who have Orthopaedic infections and outpatient care of the same patient cohort.

The post holder will be expected to lead and develop the Orthopaedic Infection Service with a focus on improving patient care and making the service efficient and accountable.  

The out-of-hours responsibilities will involve participation on Infectious Diseases Consultant on-call rota.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Infectious Diseases or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practise with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
