CONSULTANTS IN ACUTE MEDICINE and GENERAL MEDICINE X4
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust was formed in 2002 and became a Foundation Trust in 2004.
We are looking to appoint four Acute/General Physicians, to join a dynamic team of acute physicians. With rapid expansion of Acute Medicine Services in the last few years, currently 7 Acute Physicians offer acute medical service across the 2 sites and 67 acute care beds. We are a very dynamic group with active involvement in National and Regional safety initiatives and a member of the national network for ambulatory emergency care services.
There is an excellent Severn Deanery training programme in Acute Medicine, with 3 registrars based on our Acute Care Units. We regularly have posters and presentations at SAM and other national and international conferences.
The successful candidate will support and help to develop the acute medical services which include an acute admission and ambulatory emergency care unit as well as a short stay unit in Gloucester Royal hospital. Candidates who have other specialty interests are welcome and sub specialty session can be considered within the job plan. Current plans regarding reconfiguration provide an excellent opportunity to be involved in the expansion and development of our services.
