The Role

Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant in Gastroenterology Medicine. This is an opportunity to join our busy and friendly department to work with our team of Consultants supported by a team of specialist registrars and specialist nurses.

The appointee will work closely with their consultant colleagues, specialist registrars and specialist nurses to support the provision of outpatient and inpatient Gastroenterology services, to include diagnostic and therapeutic (luminal / hepatobiliary) endoscopy as well as outpatient clinics to a population of 400,000. We are a designated Bowel Cancer Screening Centre for our local patients, and have x 3 Procedure rooms and x 1 screening room. We have a stable and vibrant Endoscopy nurse team with one of the highest staff retention rates within the Trust. 

The role will be based mainly at the West Middlesex Hospital site but will include cross site sessions at our Chelsea site on Fulham Road. There will be no General Medical on-call participation. A specialist interest in luminal gastroenterology especially welcome but not an absolute requirement. There will be an opportunity to participate in our BCSP programme.

The successful candidate must be within six months of obtaining their CCT or already be eligible for inclusion on the specialist register at the time of the interview.
