About Devon Partnership

We provide mental health and learning disability services, as well as a range of specialist and secure services for the wider south west region and nationally. We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery.

Our values

At Devon Partnership NHS Trust we not only recruit employees based on their qualifications and experience - we recruit individuals who possess (and are able to demonstrate) the behaviours which underpin the core values of our organisation.

These values include such attributes as showing a commitment to quality of care, improving lives of others, giving respect, dignity and compassion. We can bring those values to life in our everyday tasks by giving a smile; making time for people; challenging ourselves and others, and being open to new ideas.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, maternity/pregnancy, marriage/civil partnership or sexual orientation status. All part time, job share and flexible working applications will be considered and supported, where possible. We particularly encourage applicants with lived experience of mental health issues.

At Devon Partnership NHS Trust we want to attract and retain talented people and create a great place to work with a shared sense of pride and ambition. Our vision is to have an inclusive society where the importance of mental health and wellbeing is universally understood and valued. Recovery is at the heart of everything we do and we are one of the pioneers in driving forward the recovery agenda.

The role

Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry in Torbay (Central) 10 PAs

The post described below has been vacant following the departure of its previous incumbent.

It is within the Torbay Local Delivery Unit (LDU) of the Adult Clinical Directorate (see organizational structure below). It is a post for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist for patients age 16-65 years old (16-18 out of fulltime education) serving a large urban community in Torbay (Central). Our Trust has worked closely with the commissioners to redesign the service and the recently formed Adult LDU for Torbay is divided into three teams of a broadly equitable population size based on GP patches. The Torbay Central Team covers an area around the team base which includes some Paignton GP practices and some Torquay GP practices.

The post holder will be currently based at the Health and Wellbeing Clinic, (Chadwell Centre) within the Paignton area, where private office space with PC accessibility and IT support is available and appropriate secretarial support will be provided.

Full-time or part time applications are welcomed from Consultants. Salary and relocation packages are negotiable and CEA’s will be honored.
