Chain Florey Research Continuation Fellowships

Salary range: £32,478 - £57,444 plus £2,162 London Allowance per annum
(or £30,805 - £46,208, plus £2,162 London Allowance per annum if the successful applicant has transitioned to the new junior doctor pay scales before appointment.)
Duration: 6 months
This is an exciting opportunity for junior doctors who will have completed Foundation Year 2 training and have a PhD (or MSc with significant research experience), to undertake a research placement at the world leading MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS)/Institute of Clinical Sciences, Imperial College commencing between 1 August 2018 and 1st February 2019
This Fellowship will provide funding for a period of research training to build on existing research skill-sets established during an MSc or PhD, to establish a clinical academic career. It is part of a clinical academic training programme provided by the Institute for the strongest of candidates.
Funding will cover the Fellow’s salary plus research consumables for 6 months.
Support will be provided to find a suitable project and for subsequent applications for ACF or Clinical Lectureships, where appropriate.
The Medical Research Council (MRC) London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) is one of three MRC-funded research Institutes in the UK and is a Department of Imperial College London, one of the UK’s top Universities. The LMS, situated on the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London employs over 400 researchers and fosters an interactive, interdisciplinary environment that provides a dynamic interface between leading basic and clinical research.
