Consultant Cardiologist with special interest Cardiac Electrophysiology

Applications are invited for a new post to join 24 existing cardiologists at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. The Department of Cardiology is a large regional referral centre undertaking all aspects of cardiology. The appointee will work at QEHB within the field of cardiac electro-physiology and will join the team of 4 substantive electrophysiologists. This will allow the phased retirement of one of the existing consultants. The EP department is the largest in the West Midlands providing tertiary ablation and device services for a population of 4.5 million including adult congenital heart disease patients. Expertise in catheter ablation and cardiac devices are required. An additional subspecialist interest within the field would be welcome. The appointees will also participate in some general cardiology duties including a commitment to the ‘duty cardiologist of the week’ rota and to out-patient clinics.
