Applications are invited for a permanent position as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist with a specialist interest in Vascular intervention.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) is part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and is recognised as one of the leading NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation for quality of care, information technology, clinical training and research. We provide adult services to over 800,000 patients every year. The Trust is a regional centre for cancer, trauma, vascular, burns & plastics and has the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe.

The Imaging Department provides a comprehensive service accepting both regional and supraregional diagnostic and interventional referrals for a wide range of clinical specialties. The Department carries out in the region of 340,000 examinations and procedures each year spread across all of the diagnostic and interventional modalities. The 46 existing Consultant Radiologist team have well established links into all of the specialty and sub specialty clinical teams across the Trust, including access to the Trusts research and audit teams as appropriate including supporting a large number of clinical trials. The Department also provides imaging support for the Royal Centre Defence Medicine and is a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre.

This post provides an opportunity to join an established and proactive Consultant Radiologist team in order to respond to the need of our growing service. There will be an Interventional Radiology on-call commitment. Applicants must be on or eligible for GMC specialist register for Radiology.
