Consultant in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine
Nestled in the heart of Cheshire, with green fields bordering the site on every side, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust staff benefit from great work, home, education and leisure opportunities. The Trust has three sites, including its headquarters at Leighton Hospital in Crewe – 35 minutes from Manchester or Liverpool and less than an hour away from Birmingham, yet only half an hour away from the Peak District. There are some excellent day nurseries and schools in the local area, including 22 Ofsted “Outstanding Providers”.
The Trust has a formal clinical partnership with its nearby University Hospital and benefits from local universities in Crewe (Manchester Metropolitan University) and in Chester.
The Trust was rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC from its October 2014 full inspection, has a good reputation for research and benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities; these include Critical Care, neonatal intensive care, a new suite of state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre. The Trust has invested significantly in recent years in clinical expansion and hospital mortality is ‘as expected’ across the range of indicators.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to recruit a new Consultant to a dual specialty post in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance links and share expertise across both specialties. The successful candidate will join a team of 8 WTE Consultants in Critical Care and 7.6 WTE Consultants in Emergency Medicine. It is envisaged that there will be a 50:50 split of clinical duties between Critical Care and Emergency Medicine. However there may be some flexibility to accommodate specific clinical interests of the successful candidate.
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a Licence to Practise, and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training).
The posts are offered on a full-time basis; however, the Trust would welcome discussion with individuals looking for a more flexible working pattern to support a different work life balance.
Shortlisted candidates will be expected to visit the department prior to interview.
