Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon

Inflammatory Bowel Surgery Interest

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust aim to appoint an innovative, dynamic and flexible colorectal surgeon with an interest in inflammatory bowel disease. The appointee will also be expected to provide some services to compliment the colorectal cancer service.

Whilst the candidate will be part of the general surgical team, their mandate would be to primarily manage surgical IBD patients, attend the IBD MDT alternate weeks and run clinics in parallel with the IBD gastroenterologists. The appointee will be expected to join the stoma care nurses to review patients with complex stoma problems and ileo-anal pouches.

There would be an expectation that the successful candidate would complement the current colorectal cancer surgical team and attend the lower GI MDT. There is also an expectation that the post-holder may be required to help train a Laproscopic fellow.

The on-call rota is 1 in 8 and is supported by a non-resident SpR and resident SHO equivalent category.
