Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health care for children, young people and their families in Sussex and Hampshire, to support with conditions such as anxiety, eating disorders, psychosis and learning difficulties. We provide services in hospitals, in-patient units and community services and we are seeking people to join us, to help us continue to provide high quality services.
We are now the most active mental health research organisation in the south of England and more than 9000 participants have taken part in our high quality research studies.
Our staff complete both mandatory and statutory training, and are also offered opportunities to take part in individual CPD training, relevant to their professional discipline and experience.

We set up staff training, from basic skills to doctorate degrees. We support the placement of tomorrow’s nurses. Psychiatrists, psychologists, psychological therapists, occupational therapists and other health professionals during their training.
We are a University Trust and run courses with Brighton and Sussex Medical School and seven other universities across the South East and beyond. Our events and courses aim to bring staff of different disciplines, students, service users and carers together, to share experiences and ideas so that we can work well together.
Additionally staff are able to apply for funding for completion of professional training which if awarded will be supported by a Learning Agreement.
Continuing Professional Development
The Trust is committed to encouraging CPD/CME for all medical staff and has agreed to fund a sum of up to £650.00 per person per year for CPD/CME. You will be expected to have a plan for such education as is deemed appropriate, taking into account his/her own needs and those of the service. Basic entitlement for professional development is 10 working days per annum (30 days per 3 year period).
There are Consultant peer groups which occur on a monthly basis for the CAMHS consultants, which the candidate will be encouraged to join. These are used to agree plans for CPD as well as presenting case based discussions. The Trust is committed to supporting CPD activities both internally and externally.
For Specialty doctors the study leave is the same, but budget is £500 pa.
