The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Royal Brompton Hospital. This post is to substantiate post currently filled by a locum; it is a whole time Consultant in Thoracic Surgery.  

The appointee will provide clinical services in Thoracic Surgery, in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust.

The appointee would be expected to take part in and maintain a 24 hour service for adults with benign and malignant lesions of lung, mediastinum and pleura with other departments and services and be a multidiscipli-nary lung cancer team member.

The appointee will supervise and deliver clinical and technical education in thoracic surgery and to maintain the international teaching profile of the Trust.  

Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
