Consultant in Radiology with a special interest in Oncological Imaging
We are looking for an individual to fill this replacement post within the Radiology Department at the Leeds General Infirmary/St James’s University Hospital.
We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist to join our team of 8 Consultants delivering Oncological Radiology. The post will primarily be based at the Leeds Cancer Centre in St James’ Hospital, with some sessions delivered at Leeds General Infirmary. One of the largest in the UK, the Centre offers integrated cancer services for the people of Leeds and is a specialist centre for patients with cancer in Leeds, Yorkshire and across the North of England. Our expertise and quality of care also attracts patients from other parts of the country and abroad. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the team’s delivery of specialist oncological imaging, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound and plain film examinations, as well as MDT attendance. There is also a General Radiological component to the post. On call commitment will include delivering Non Vascular Interventional and/or Acute CT / Diagnostic Radiology cover on a rota of no more than 1/10.
The successful applicant should possess FRCR (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
Applicants should have established skills in Radiology and its related specialties including Oncological Radiology and Non Vascular Interventional Radiology. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
