A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Consultant or Consultant position to join ellenor and our medical team.
ellenor is the only hospice charity in Kent caring for all ages, providing a wide range of services to both adults and children and their families. Rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission our services include adult in-patient care, day therapy and 24 hour hospice at home care. Our mission is to lead and coordinate the best personalised care for all ages, sharing our expertise to ensure that all families facing terminal illness get the right support in the best place possible.
The post holder will play a key role in the multi-professional specialist palliative care team at ellenor, providing clinical care to patients in the community and Hospital team at Darent Valley Hospital. The post holder will also be supporting cross-cover to the Inpatient unit, Outpatient clinics and Day services as needed. This will include clinical supervision of non-consultant grade medical colleague and also contributing to the development of Hospice services, particularly with a community focus, as well as to educational activities at the Hospice.
The Lead Consultant role would have responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of the specialty doctors. Together with the Director of Patient Care, the post holder will work collaboratively to deliver the clinical care strategy to ensure the highest quality of care for patients and families in all settings and building key internal and external relationships.
