Joint Director of Public Health - Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly and Service Director for Wellbeing

This is a crucial system leader role, working to the Chief Executive of Cornwall Council to embed population health outcomes from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as we implement our ambitious growth and transformation plans. We are looking for a leader who will make the case for investing into effective demand management and prevention strategies to drive improvements in the health and wellbeing of residents delivering tangible long-term results.
As well as acting as the statutory Director of Public Health for the 2 Local Authorities of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, the successful candidate will be integral to developing a single integrated strategic commissioning function for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as part of the Shaping our Future Programme (STP). You will also lead for Cornwall Council on the physical activity and leisure services, which promotes improvements in the health and wellbeing of our local communities.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will work across our directorates, our partners and communities, shaping the wider public health to reduce health inequalities. You will need to bring not only a strong track record in Public Health delivery but also the ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships, with a wide range of stake holders, to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
