Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Part time Renal Physician (core 6PA with additional 2 PA 3-year fixed term research funding) with an interest in Renal Genetic Disease and Polycystic Kidney Disease to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

This is an exciting new post, based in the Northern General Hospital, to join 11 consultant renal physicians (8.7WTE). The post is required to support the Specialist Renal Genetics service that provides expert assessment, clinical care and support for patients with inherited renal diseases.

The candidate will hold a higher postgraduate degree, have relevant research experience and be keen to develop their academic career. The post includes 2PA research funding for a 3-year fixed term basis with one PA funded by the University of Sheffield and one by the directorate. The funding is aimed at facilitating application for longer-term grants aligned with the Directorate Research strategy which includes translational research in Polycystic Kidney Disease.
