Applications are invited for substantive Consultant posts in Adult Intensive Care Medicine at University Hospital Lewisham. 

The posts are based in University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) ICU/HDUs and include anaesthetic sessions but optional sessions are available in another specialty if the applicant is dual accredited. The posts are also suitable for an applicant who wishes solely to work in ICU/HDU. The busy combined unit has twenty beds and is run by dedicated consultants and juniors and forms one of two sites of the combined Lewisham & Greenwich Critical Care Directorate.

There is a structured teaching program (joint UHL and Queen Elizabeth Woolwich, QEH) which applicants will be encouraged to help deliver on starting the job. 

Health Education South London & The Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine have granted the AICU resident posts educational approval and is an accredited training unit for ICM.

The unit was rated ‘Good’ in the last two CQC visits and in the recent South London Adult Critical Care Review.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a new Trust formed on 1st October 2013, following the merger of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Greenwich.  We are a committed multi-professional team who provide much-valued hospital and community services as one organisation. We offer medical, surgical and emergency services to local residents, and also provide a range of specialist services for South East London and beyond. Our community health professionals work closely with the hospital and GPs to provide support to adults and children in their own homes and across a range of health centres and clinics.
