Base: Flexible but required to be in London (PHE Headquarters) weekly and Leicester (NHS England Clinical Effectiveness team) also weekly.
Here at Public Health England we wish to appoint a selfmotivated, collaborative and innovative individual to the National Public Health Advisor - Clinical effectiveness role supporting NHS England to improve patients’ outcomes and reduce inequalities in outcomes by supporting the commissioning of evidence based, equitable, efficient and cost effective services. This role supports the national specialised commissioning function within NHS England which accounts for spend of approximately £17 billion annually. The post will have a leading role in the oversight, development and support of the PHE contribution to national specialised commissioning, including highly specialised commissioning with priorities identified through a Heads of Agreement. The post holder will also work with regional colleagues to ensure well-co-ordinated and integrated Public Health support to this commissioning function.
The post is embedded within NHS England and the post holder will work as part of the Clinical effectiveness team to provide public health leadership on the development of clinical commissioning policies, specifications and other guidance on specialised services.
As a PHE employee the successful individual will be part of PHEs National HCPH team healthcare public health team working to advise and co-ordinate PHE Healthcare Public Health advice NHS England across a wide portfolio of areas and topics.
