Consultant Haematologist (10PA)
We are looking for a colleague to join our forward thinking and expanding Haematology Department. This is a new post and we want to recruit a colleague with a specialist interest in malignant haematology and within that remit the successful applicant’s disease specific interests will be accommodated. You will be part of a team of 8 consultants, 2 speciality doctors, 3 rotational speciality registrars, 1 academic clinical fellow, 2 dedicated foundation doctors and 13clinical nurse specialists.
We provide Level 3 Haematology care and all stages of autologous stem cell transplantation by fully JACIE accredited service and with on-site state-of-the-art Radiotherapy equipment. The hospital is a dedicated TYA centre and haemophilia centre. Our department provides undergraduate teaching at the Norwich Medical School in both clinical and laboratory haematology as well as having active clinical trials and basic scientific research programmes. Laboratory Haematology is part of a managed pathology network across Norfolk and parts of Suffolk (Eastern Pathology Alliance). The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is the‘hub’ laboratory and provides all community pathology for the network. The NNUH lab is fully CPA accredited.
The NNUH is a busy teaching hospital housed in a modern PFI build in close proximity to the University serving a catchment area of up to 822,500 people with the benefit of advanced electronic working including prescribing, PACS and computerised laboratory ordering and reporting.
