Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon(Lower Limb)
South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust invites applications from dynamic and well-motivated individuals for a Substantive Consultant post in Trauma and Orthopaedics with an interest in Primary Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. We would welcome the development of a new Young Adult Hip service to complement the existing Lower Limb team.
This is a replacement post where the successful candidate will join an existing team of 6 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons delivering a comprehensive orthopaedic service and will be part of the consultant general trauma on-call. The hospital is a designated Trauma Unit on the North-East Trauma Network. The department is actively involved in teaching medical students from Newcastle University.
The post is whole-time and offers 10 PAs averaged out over a 6 week period and is under the terms and conditions of the 2003 consultant contract.
