We are seeking to recruit two Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to our Bridgend Secondary CAMHS team (based in Bridgend Child and Family Centre, Princess of Wales Hospital). There are 15 sessions to be divided between the 2 posts so whether you are looking for a full time or part time post, please give us a call.

The successful candidates will join an established team of Child Psychiatrists within the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABM) locality (Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea) of the Cwm Taf University Health Board CAMHS Provider Network, which provides CAMH Services across three Health Board areas.

This is an exciting time for CAMHS in Wales following the injection of new Welsh Government funding for the development of services including Crisis services, First Episode Psychosis services and Psychological therapies, and the implementation of CAPA as a framework for service transformation in our CAMHS teams across the Cwm Taf UHB Provider Network.

The successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Systemic/Family Therapist, CAMHS Nurses and Specialty Doctor to provide out-patient secondary CAMHS in the Bridgend area of the ABM locality. You will have the opportunity to meet regularly with colleagues across the ABM locality for CPD activities and peer supervision.

Bridgend is superbly located in central South Wales, just 30 minutes’ drive from both the capital city of Cardiff and the city of Swansea, hosting various sporting, recreational and cultural activities, and within close proximity of the Brecon Beacons, Gower peninsula and Glamorgan Heritage coastline, providing opportunities for an excellent work life balance.  There are very good transport links via the M4 and rail network.

On call: Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Rota across the Cwm Taf CAMHS Network of approximately 1:16.

Programmed Activities in line with sessions agreed - for full time a total of up to 10 Programmed Activities: Secondary CAMHS community team.

Candidates are encouraged to express their preference regarding number of sessions prior to interview.

Cwm Taf University Health Board (UHB) reserve the right to close this vacancy after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received. Therefore we encourage early applications to ensure consideration for this post.
