Applications are invited for the above full time post working in the Cardiff and Vale Secondary CAMH Service based as St David's Hospital, a community hospital in the centre of the City of Cardiff. The applicant will join a team of CAMHS Consultants working in a multi-disciplinary service comprising of Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, CAMHS therapists, Family Therapy and Psychotherapy.
The Service provides Secondary CAMHS working closely with colleagues in Community Child Health and Primary Mental Health located in the same building. Cwm Taf CAMHS is committed to providing high quality evidence based services and has received investment over the recent 3 years from Welsh Government to strengthen therapeutic services, improve crisis response services and develop Youth Services in 1st Epiosde Psychosis and Eating Disorders (spanning 14-25 year olds).
Further investment is also being provided to develop psychological therapies across all ages and an All Wales approach to training for CAMHS Clinicians. The service has also implemented CAPA from September 17 as a framework for service transformation. The post will be based on a 10 session job plan (7 Direct Clinical Care, 3 Supporting Professional Activities). The DCC include one session of Tier 3 forensic work, to work in a tier 3 team of part time nurse and therapist supporting SCAMHS and Youth Offending Services through joint working and consultation. The post will be employed by Cwm Taf University Health Board who is currently the provider of 3 camhs services including this service commissioned by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
It is anticipated by April 2019 the service will be managed within the Cardiff and Vale UHB enabling closer links with the University Hospital of Wales and Cardiff School of Medicine. There is a CAMHS oncall service (1:18 currently) covering the 3 Health Boards in the Network with a dedicated first camhs on call - the Consultant jpins the 2nd oncall rota. Cardiff is a vibrant, compact city, with excellent cultural,sporting and recreational facilities. Both the beautiful coastline of The Gower Peninsula, the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and The Brecon Beacons are within an hour's drive.

With effect from 1st April 2017 points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on AfC Pay Band 1 and Pay Band 2 will be adjusted to £16,523 to reflect the incorporation of the living wage £8.45 per hour.
