Assistant Director & Consultant in Public Health
This is an opportunity to join an energetic and high-achieving public health service in Thurrock Council. Public health in Thurrock is at the centre of innovative efforts to integrate health and social care, improve children’s health, and take advantage of major regeneration projects to influence the wider determinants of health. We see Public Health as an integral part of the work of the entire Council and partner organisations and as such have an ambitious programme of delivery centred on our Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment programme.
This is a senior appointment within the Public Health Team and the successful applicant will be responsible for leading key elements of our Public Health programme across and beyond the Council.
The main focus of the post will be on children and young people’s health and sexual health services. As the Consultant, you will be a member of the Children’s Services Corporate Directorate Management Team and will lead on driving improvements in health and well being outcomes and reduction in health inequalities across our population of 0 to 19s.
Candidates must be included on the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List or UK Public Health Register.
