Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist with an Interest in Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases
You are invited to apply for Consultant Paediatric Cardiology posts of 10 PA based at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. There will be on call commitment 1 in 12.
The specialty is led by Professor Michael Burch and consists of 20 consultants, 7 SpRs, 3 Fellows and 4 ST2 along with 8 specialist nurses.
The Consultant, will have a substantial outreach cardiology commitment across the network. There will also be allocated sessions to develop an interest in Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases.
The Cardiac Unit is an exciting and innovative department that aspires to the highest possible quality of care. The Unit provides a complete spectrum of medical and surgical services for children with congenital and acquired heart disease, as well as specialist activity in pulmonary hypertension, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation, tracheal service, thoracic surgery and heart and heart-lung transplantation. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care. In association with the Institute of Child Health and the Institute of Cardiovascular Science it has responsibility for research, development, teaching and training in all aspects of cardiac health and diseases in children.
You will be expected to have a particular interest in Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases. Proven clinical ability is desirable, as is the ability and commitment to teach in a clinical setting. The ability to work harmoniously within a team is also essential. There will also be regular cardiology clinics at GOSH and within the network.
