Consultant Clinical Oncologist – Head and Neck and Skin

St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join the Oncology team at St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. The Trust is delighted to invite an experienced or new Oncology Consultant to join our friendly and motivated team in a permanent 10 PAs role.

The successful applicant will be based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford, providing care to our expanding Oncology services. The post specialises in Head and Neck and Skin with clinics and MDTs to reflect this.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital Foundation Trust provides specialist Cancer and Haemato-oncological care, including complex Cancer Surgery, to the population of the South West Surrey and Hampshire (previously SWSH cancer network), a catchment area of approximately 1.2 million. Non-surgical oncological treatment for these patients is provided at the St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, which is an integral part of the Trust. There are close links with surrounding cancer units and the Surrey Clinical Research Centre.

Here at St Luke’s, we aim to provide first class, high quality care for all of our patients in a friendly and professional setting. Our services have received national recognition and praise and our patients benefit from the latest and most innovative treatments available, delivered by a team of committed and highly skilled staff. You will be joining our team of 27 oncologists, supported by a team of Specialist Registrars, Specialty Doctors, SHOs, AHP’s and Specialist Nurses.

St Luke’s offers a nationally leading brachytherapy service that enables patients to have more choice in their treatment options. The Consultants delivering the service are involved in National and International teaching and research ensuring quality and care for every patient.

This is a 10 PAs post consisting of outpatient clinics, ward round (AOS) cover, varied MDT meetings and Radiotherapy treatment planning (see sample job plan in attached job description). In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post you must be eligible for full GMC registration. Applicants will have their CCT in Clinical Oncology or be within 6 months of obtaining it.
