THE LOCAL AREA
We are based in Surrey, junction 11 of the M25 just 25 minutes by car from South West London and connected by train to London Waterloo. We are based close to Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Ashford and St Peter’s is well placed to offer staff the best of both worlds, located in a more rural setting but with easy access to the city. The local area has a lot to offer, from a range of leisure activities to highly rated schools.
CONSULTANT IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE
Our ED operates a 24 hour service for adult and paediatric patients, seeing approximately 96,000 attendances annually. We are a Trauma Unit linked to the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) at St. George’s Hospital.
We pride ourselves on the high level of clinical interventions and range of services provided. St. Peter’s Hospital was an early participant in the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement’s Ambulatory Emergency Care programme in the South East Coast, and continues to develop its provision of ambulatory emergency care. We also have further plans to expand our Clinical Decision Unit.
The Consultant Team is friendly and enthusiastic, with a hands-on approach to patient care and excellent relationships with the Trust’s inpatient speciality teams. We have complete engagement in the leadership and management of the department and are very well supported to pursue special interests, with many opportunities to professionally develop and lead projects.
Applicants to this post are required to be fully registered on the GMC’s Specialist Register, or be eligible within six months from the date of interview.
