Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust was founded in January 2012 coming together from Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk Mental Health Partnership. The Trust provides mental health and learning disability services across Norfolk and Suffolk. The East Suffolk CCGs population of nearly 400,000, is served by the East Suffolk Mental Health Services.
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a 0.5 WTE Later Life Liaison, Consultant Psychiatrist, within the Psychiatric Liaison Service, based in Ipswich Hospital. The Ipswich Hospital is an 800 bedded, teaching hospital; affiliated to the University of Cambridge; the University of East Anglia and the University Campus Suffolk and is one of the largest acute medical facilities in East Anglia. The Psychiatric Liaison Service offers a multi-disciplinary service, 7 days a week; 7am to 9pm, to patients 13 years and above.
We are looking for individuals who are committed and able to integrate with an established multi-disciplinary team and who are good communicators and leaders. Relevant experience working with Liaison Psychiatry would be beneficial. The successful applicants will be working with a team of enthusiastic colleagues, experienced nurses and a Psychologist

Applicants for the post should have or be eligible for a CCT and eligible onto the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date. The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
