Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Cardiologist in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. This post is a replacement post; it is a whole time Consultant Cardiologist in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, based at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

The appointee will oversee and co-run the clinical services of adult congenital heart disease jointly with the existing consultant team and provide inpatient services to adults with congenital heart disease, including support in intensive care and high dependency areas.  The appointee will participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5) covering inpatient activity and emergency work.  The appointee will run and supervise consultant-led / delivered outpatient clinics and supervise and train junior staff allocated to the Adult Congenital Heart Unit, including clinical fellows and specialist trainees. 

The appointee will contribute to the further development of the Structural Heart Disease research and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and Clinical Governance activity.

In addition, the successful applicant’s role will enhance the links between adult and paediatric cardiac medicine and surgery and help in further development of services for adult congenital heart disease at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
