A rare opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Chair in Oncology in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition for an outstanding academic. This permanent post is aimed at individuals at Consultant level who have already demonstrated commitment to a clinical academic career path and delivered excellence in both academic and clinical roles. The new Chair will bring a strong academic track record to establish a programme of excellence in Oncology research, attract a portfolio of external research grants, deliver high quality publications, build a world class research team and create a vibrant environment for research and teaching. The appointee will be accorded NHS Honorary Consultant status and will contribute to the clinical work of the NHS Department of Oncology.
The successful applicant will have an international profile in Oncology research and clinical expertise in a related area. S/he will have already a proven track record in obtaining research funding from charities, research councils or the pharmaceutical industry, and high impact publications. Full GMC registration and a Higher Degree, PhD or equivalent is essential.
