Consultant in Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Medicine
Applications are invited to apply for a Consultant post in Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Medicine at St George’s Hospital. Applicants are expected to have significant experience in cardio-thoracic intensive care.
The successful applicant will join a team of 10 existing consultants. Our cardio-thoracic intensive care unit (CTITU) is a 21-bedded unit that admits patients after cardiothoracic surgery and also supports various cardiology services as well as vascular surgery.
In addition to holding full GMC registration the successful candidate should have undergone formal training in Intensive Care Medicine (e.g. CCT, or within six months of CCT completion at the time of the interview) or equivalent certification or qualification.
A minimum of six months of experience in cardio-thoracic intensive care medicine and competence in trans-oesophageal and/or trans-thoracic echocardiography is expected. This post primarily has sessions in inten-sive care medicine; however, the successful candidate may negotiate sessions in associated specialities such as cardio-thoracic or vascular anaesthesia. This post will be available from June 2018.
