Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
Varied opportunities including Salaried, Partnerships and Locum
Across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, GPs are enjoying excellent opportunities to care, learn and develop. Here, you’ll find many opportunities to work in a way that suits you, whether in a partnership, salaried or portfolio role, with a range of full-time, part-time and flexible working options available.
Our area is home to a diverse population and practices cater for a wide range of patient demographics from older people to children and families, some living in affluent areas, some from very deprived communities. Within those, areas of focus include looking after an aging population with multiple long-term conditions, working with the homeless or managing diverse demands of young people and families. From large inner-city practices to those in smaller towns and rural areas, you’ll find a practice that suits you here.
Practices are focused on developing innovative ways of working to ensure continuous improvement across services and are taking a proactive approach to developing solutions to the challenges presented by increasing demand. They offer the opportunity to be part of a close-knit, supportive team, working together to deliver high quality, individual health care that makes a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of their local community, from newborn to end of life.
Working in general practice also allows you to pursue your clinical interests. Here you can:
- Take advantage of portfolio working within the system, with examples including homeless health services, prison healthcare, hospice healthcare, emergency department front door and out-of-hours services, amongst many others
- Pursue research or develop a specialist interest via the opportunities presented by the two universities and a range of acute and specialist hospitals in the area
- Join a training practice – these offer great opportunities for GP trainees and for experienced GPs who enjoy teaching and mentoring new colleagues
For GPs, that all means more rewarding roles.
