We are looking for an enthusiastic, team centric, patient focused, forward thinking individual who will join our department to complement the existing ENT team in South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. Warwickshire is a county steeped in history and culture. There are excellent local schools and nearby Leamington Spa was recently voted the happiest place to live in the country!

The role

The ENT Department at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint an Associate Specialist who can assist in the provision of ENT / Head & Neck Services in the locality. Candidates for this role must have FRCS in Otolaryngology, GMC registration and recent experience within the NHS.

The Department

The Adult Inpatient Unit is situated on 23 Hour and Hatton Wards and Paediatric on MacGregor Ward. All in patient care is at Warwick Hospital.

Outpatients Services

Full Outpatient services are provided at the Warwick Hospital, Stratford Hospital and Ellen Badger Hospital. The Associate Specialist will undertake Clinics at Warwick Hospital and may on occasions be required to attend clinics at other sites.

The individual will provide a general ENT service but will also need to complement existing services as well as help development of new areas.

The unit is diagnostic for Head and Neck Cancer.

Operating Theatres

All inpatient work is undertaken at Warwick Hospital where theatres are fully equipped with new microscopes, Stortz endoscopes and general equipment for FESS nasal and sinus surgery.

Day Case Surgery

Day case surgery for adults and children is carried out at Warwick Hospital in a dedicated Day Unit.

Audiology Department

There are fully equipped Audiology Departments for adults at Warwick, Stratford and Ellen Badger Hospitals. All Paediatric and diagnostic paediatric audiology is undertaken at Woodloes Paediatric Audiology Suite, based at Woodloes Primary School which is an area dedicated for assessments and rehabilitation.

Speech therapy

We have 2 speech therapists who provide an excellent service and attend the voice clinic. There is a swallowing assessment team who undertake FEES and video fluoroscopic assessments of swallow. We have a good hospital and community dietetics service.

Other departments

We have close working relations with the Haematology, Respiratory and Rheumatology departments
