Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Newham Child and Family Consultation Service Emotional & Behavioural Team including Paediatric Liaison
A Consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist is required.This CAMHS services is one of 5 community CAMHS teams and 1 inpatient service which are part of the ELFT Specialist Services Directorate, providing assessment and treatment of young people with mental health disorders up to the age of 18 years.
The Emotional and behavioural team provides assessment and treatment to children and young people presenting with a wide range of emotional and behavioural disorders. Each EBT comprises a full range of CAMHS disciplines including child psychotherapy, clinical psychology, family therapy and nursing, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.
The post-holder will be expected to provide joint senior clinical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team in partnership with a non- medical co lead, to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment where clinically appropriate, case management of complex or high risk presentations, and to facilitate the development of the team and wider service.
The Paediatric Liaison team, is a small team providing liaison to paediatric services at Newham University Hospital and offering assessment and treatment of somatisation & conversion disorders as well as emotional difficulties related to chronic physical illness.
