Consultant Haematologist with interests in BMT and leukaemia
The Haematology team at NUH are looking for a new colleague to join their friendly and forward thinking service. This is an opportunity to join an internationally renowned service at the forefront of research and clinical innovation. This is a new substantive post joining the Leukaemia and BMT team, reflecting the increased workload in this area. The successful candidate should have an active interest in acute leukaemia (particularly ALL) and stem cell transplantation.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest in the UK with an annual budget in excess of £940 million. It was formed on 1 April 2006, when two top-rated trusts Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital merged in order to develop a range of high-quality, sustainable patient services across the two campuses. The Clinical Haematology service is primarily based at the City Campus in a purpose-built centre housing 2 inpatient wards, daycase and clinic facilities, including an apheresis suite.
The Department is one of the largest centres for the treatment of clinical haematology in the UK with a specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of haematological malignancy and a keen interest in clinical trials and clinical research. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and confident doctor keen to develop both clinical and leadership skills.
The successful candidate will join the BMT and leukaemia teams and work with 2 BMT nurse coordinators, an Anthony Nolan funded late effects specialist nurse, AML and ALL clinical nurse specialists and a BMT Fellow.
This role can incorporate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, educational supervision, research and leadership roles within the specialty.
It is a requirement for successful candidates to have completed Specialist Training in the UK or equivalent and to be entered on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Haematology or be eligible to be listed within 6 months of interview.

Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
