The James Paget University Hospital is seeking to appoint a Permanent full time Consultant in Oral Surgery. 

The appointee will need to have a wide experience in Oral Surgery and the ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of problems within Oral Surgery. The appointee must have CCT or be within six months of completion of training or be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register.

The JPUH have been given an overall rating of “Good,” following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection which took place in August 2015. This places us in the top 30% of acute trusts in the country.

The Trust came out top in the East of England region on the 2016 GMC trainees’ survey results, reflecting our commitment to providing a high quality training environment and looking after our trainees as valued col-leagues.

The Hospital is an active partner in the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. Approximately 1/3 of the undergraduate medical education is provided by the Trust. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in the undergraduate programme which could lead to an Honorary Senior Lectureship. There is also the opportunity for those interested in academic work to develop research with the UEA, with access to research facilities at the University.

The James Paget University Hospital is located less than a mile from long sandy beaches and is within commuting distance from several small vil-lages. There is a wide choice of good local schools and competitive house prices.

The roads are free from traffic congestion and residents enjoy a good quality of life with easy access to the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads famed for its wildlife, walking, cycling and sailing opportunities. The historic city of Norwich is only 30 minutes away and has an interna-tional airport; there are excellent rail links to London and easy access to the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich for access to Europe.
