Consultant Urological Surgeon
An opportunity has arisen within NHS Grampian for a further full time Consultant Urological Surgeon to join seven Consultants in the progressive Urology Department at the major University teaching hospital of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Applicants should have wide knowledge of and experience in all major branches of the specialty including extensive experience in laparoscopic uro-oncology. The applicant is expected to play a key role in the development of robotic laparoscopic surgery within the department.
We have recently opened two new minimally invasive theatres in NHS Grampian and installed the first Da Vinci robotic system in Scotland. We are committed to developing state of the art technology within the unit.
As such we require the candidate to be forward thinking in their approach to new technology and its integration into practice. In addition to fixed duties, the post offers excellent opportunities for both teaching and research.
It is anticipated the applicant will develop an interest in robotic upper tract surgery.
It is likely that the University of Aberdeen will accord the honorary status of Clinical Senior Lecturer. Applicants should possess FRCS Urology or equivalent.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
