The prestigious Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has a long standing track record of undertaking world class clinical and basic science research, stemming from revolutionary research in the 1970s/80s.
National Women’s Health, Auckland City Hospital (ADHB) is the largest maternity hospital in Australasia and a leading tertiary and quaternary provider of Women’s Health and Level 3 Neonatal services to the Northern part of the North Island of New Zealand; including subspecialty services in MFM, Gynaecological Oncology, Urogynaecology and Minimal Access Surgery. ADHB has a catchment area of approximately 1,000,000 with 7,000 births p.a. and 20,000 city-wide across Auckland.
We are seeking an experienced Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist to take up this new and exciting role that brings together these two leading organisations. You will be based in Auckland City Hospital and your time will be split 50% academic and 50% clinical, enabling you to maintain your clinical skills and expertise, whilst further expanding your research portfolio.
To be considered for this role, you must be an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, possibly with subspecialty qualifications, who is also passionate about research and research-led teaching. Your experience in research should be backed by an appropriate qualification (PhD, MD or equivalent) and the ability to obtain New Zealand medical registration.
