Consultant Clinical Oncologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join the Oncology team at St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. The Trust is delighted to invite an experienced or new Oncology Consultant to join our friendly and motivated team in a permanent 10PA role.
The successful applicant will be based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford, providing care to our expanding Uro-Oncology services, with an opportunity for development in prostate Brachytherapy treatments. The post specialises in Urology, visiting East Surrey and Crawley Hospitals (Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust) once a week.
The Royal Surrey County Hospital Foundation Trust provides specialist Cancer and Haemato-oncological care, including complex Cancer surgery, to the population of the South West Surrey and Hampshire (previously SWSH cancer network), a catchment area of approximately 1.2 million. Non-surgical oncological treatment for these patients is provided at the St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, which is an integral part of the Trust. There are close links with surrounding cancer units and the Surrey Clinical Research Centre.

Our services have received national recognition and praise and our patients benefit from the latest and most innovative treatments available, delivered by a team of committed and highly skilled staff. You will be joining our team of 27 oncologists, supported by a team of Specialist Registrars, Specialty Doctors, SHOs, AHP’s and Specialist Nurses.
St Luke’s offers a nationally leading brachytherapy service that enables patients to have more choice in their treatment options. The Consultants delivering the service are involved in National and International teaching and research ensuring quality and care for every patient.
This is a 10PA post consisting of outpatient clinics, ward round (AOS) cover, varied MDT meetings and Radiotherapy treatment planning (see sample job plan in attached job description). In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post you must be eligible for full GMC registration. Applicants will have their CCT in Clinical Oncology or be within 6 months of obtaining it.
