Applications are invited from suitable candidates to join us at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust as a Consultant in lntensive Care Medicine. 

Consultants in Intensive Care Medicine cover 3 separate units in two Hospitals, Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. Between them they have approximately 2000 admissions per year in all major adult specialties including major trauma. The Anaesthetic department covers the same two hospitals. There are 63 consultants within the department who provide in excess of 30,000 anaesthetics per year to a vast range of surgical specialties and many other clinical areas.

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with 1293 beds and an annual budget of c.£500 million. The Trust supports a variety of tertiary services and is both a Major Cancer Centre and Major Trauma Centre. The East Riding of Yorkshire is a very popular place to live. It extends to several well known East Coast resorts as well as containing the Yorkshire Wolds and Yorkshire Moors. The cost of living is significantly lower than elsewhere in the country making it an excellent place to achieve a good work/life balance.  

To succeed you must be a registered practitioner who possesses FRCA (or equivalent as in either on the specialist register (or eligible to be registered within 6 months). You must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all anaesthetic techniques and have completed advance intensive care training. You should also be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and work within a team.
