Consultant General Paediatricians with special interest to complement the team at The Royal Oldham Hospital
This is an excellent opportunity for consultants to work in one of the busiest hospitals in the Northwest. The post holders will join the existing team of consultant paediatricians, working in the Paediatric Directorate which is part of the Women and Children’s Division of the Royal Oldham Care Organisation. The post has arisen due to a vacancies and restructuring of the services in line with RCPCH Facing the future standard.
Currently, business plans are in progress to increase capacity in our sites as we have been recognised as a provider of choice by the local population and trust is keen to recruit keen and enthusiastic staff to provide the best care for its local population. There is full support of allied services including 24 hour diagnostics, including laboratory services and radiology, with facilities for MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Fluoroscopy.
The team has consultants with a wide range of specialist interests and a keen interest in Medical Education. We are also the host Centre for MRCPCH Clinical Examination and a number of doctors have been supported in passing the MRCPCH exams with a very high success rate among our specialty doctors and trainees. The trust is now accredited as a University Teaching Hospital for Manchester Medical School and organises number of undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes. There are specialist services for Paediatric Diabetes, Secondary Epilepsy and Tertiary Neurology Clinics, Neurodisability, Asthma and Allergy.
Each post consists of 10 programmed activities, in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. The special interests that are desirable are Paediatric Diabetes, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Metabolic Medicine.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with valid license to practise and be on the Specialist Register or eligible for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC.
