We welcome applications from committed and motivated individuals for this Consultant post in Gynaecological Oncology. This is a substantive Consultant Gynaecological Oncology post at the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust which provides a comprehensive secondary and tertiary services in gynaecological cancer surgery. This is a 10 PA, full time post with the aim to further develop our tertiary gynaecological oncology service. 

You will join two Gynaecological oncologists Miss Galaal and Miss Julian and will be replacing the third colleague who is retiring. You will be joining an established service with a developed infrastructure and will be expected to participate in all aspects of gynaecological oncology surgery. You will expected to take part in the teaching of medical students from the Medical School of University of Exeter. 

This post is to provide a high level of service to our population with particular emphasis on the minimal access surgical techniques and supra-radical surgical treatment of gynaecological cancer. Track record of those skills will be highly desirable and should be submitted with application form (i.e. log book with numbers of cases performed to date). Due to the high volume of oncology cases, no benign gynaecological surgery will be expected to be carried out by the candidate; in addition there is no obstetric component within the job plan.

You will be joining a friendly and forward thinking department of 11 Consultant colleagues, with special interests encompassing the whole of obstetrics and gynaecology. 

For new substantive consultants the job plan for these posts will include 2.5 SPAs for the first year.

You are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / EU equivalent certification at the time of interview.  Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
