Consultant in Emergency Medicine - 10 Pas
Are you committed to delivering the best of care through the best of people?
Medway NHS Foundation Trust is unique – undergoing transformational changes within the organisation that provides an extensive range of clinical services to a diverse population of approximately 400,000 across Medway and Swale. We are looking for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best of People and who has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
We are seeking applications from highly-motivated individuals for full-time/part-time positions, who will enhance the existing highly-functioning, award-winning, and supportive team of seven consultants to provide excellent clinical care and supervision with robust shop-floor leadership and inspiring education, and expanding the consultant workforce to sixteen. Dual accreditation is welcomed e.g. Paediatric EM or ICU.
The ED at Medway has a strong reputation for education and simulation, for all staff. Our focus on high quality development has been reflected in our recent CQC report and HE Deanery Quality Visit.
The Trust is making a major investment in Emergency Medicine, with a £19 million rebuild of the Department, and an increase in clinical staffing. We are a major acute centre and designated Trauma Unit, with a rooftop helipad, Interventional Radiology service, and the West Kent Vascular Centre, in addition to a hyper-acute stroke service, an interventional cardiology suite undertaking angioplasty, and a 24hr emergency endoscopy service. There is a large Critical Care department, a Tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the regional Urological Cancer Centre.
Remuneration for the posts will be commensurate with the duties and responsibilities, and the experience, of the successful applicants.
Applicants must complete the on-line application form by clicking the apply button. Please ensure you provide the names, addresses and e-mail contacts of three clinical referees and either the Director of HR or Medical Staffing Manager at your current Trust. At least one of your referees should be your current or most recent employer.
Medway Maritime Hospital became a smoke-free site on Monday 17 October 2016. This means that smoking is completely prohibited in all Trust buildings, grounds and car parks for patients, visitors, staff and contractors. This will ensure that the hospital is a better place to work and a better place for our patients to be treated.
