The Canterbury District Health Board's Neonatal Service at Christchurch Women's Hospital is a 41 bedded unit, comprised of 11 intensive care and 30 special care cots. It is a busy, acute service in a University teaching hospital providing secondary/tertiary care to new-born babies born prematurely or with surgical, congenital and medical complications following birth. We staff a neonatal transport team within the service and primarily retrieve babies from within Canterbury and the West Coast regions but are also the South Island centre for surgical cases.
We are looking for a permanent, full-time Neonatal Paediatrician to join our supportive and collegial team. You'll be a team player, accept responsibility, actively seek to pursue areas of interest and are able to effect change through a collaborative approach.
You will have advanced Neonatal training and experience in echocardiography would be an advantage but not essential. The successful applicant will also need to be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
